Academic Instability is going out with a bang, as we celebrate the trials and tribulations of UMW Finals Week… the tests are only the beginning! Thank you all for reading, good luck!
Greetings friends, neighbors, and denizens of the Web ! In case you were wondering what Academic Instability was, this blog post is here to inform you! “Academic Instability” is a webcomic written by three hapless students at the University of Mary Washington as a project for a Graphic Novels class. The goal of this comic is to document (and parody) the trials and tribulations of university life.
Many of these topics will be recognizable to college students everywhere, but also feature details and inside jokes that convey the unique experience of Mary Washington life. Anyone considering attending UMW, prepare to discover the *real* college experience, and encounter the Good, the Bad, and the Seaco! Through this comic you’ll witness the joys of great Mary Washington traditions: Devil-Goat Day, All Nighters, Discovery Days (take note visiting students!), and Questionable Cafeteria Food.
“And what are the identities of these noble chroniclers ?” you might ask. Your humble authors are (alphabetically):
John Hood: A 21 year old Mary Washington Junior from Northern Virginia, majoring in Philosophy and Classics with a Latin concentration. Passions outside the classroom include watching and discussing movies, hotly debating topics with his anthropologist roommate, and procrastinating. His duties for the comic include writer, artist, and web adminstrator.
Em Potosky: 22 year old Mary Washington Senior, majoring in Pre-Law Philosophy and Classical Civilizations. Pastimes include Judicial Review Board work, Jazz Band, and Swing Dancing. Duties include writer, artist, and web administrator.
Julianna Truslow: Mary Washington Junior, majoring in English with Creative Writing concentration, her many talents include creating art of all sorts, martial arts, and videogames. She is a writer, artist, and letterer for the webcomic.
Our first comic will be up 03/31/2010 at midnight, but we will probably update regularly on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 03/31-04/21. So tune in, enjoy, and remember to keep a lookout out for those rampant attack squirrels!
